I came across this website called
Falling Whistles, a campaign to create peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was inspired by a journal written about boys who were sent to the frontline of war with nothing but a whistle.
Be a whistleblower for peace. Let your voice be heard and wear your protest.
Go on the website at www.fallingwhistles.com and buy a whistleblower necklace. Not only are they stylish, but most importantly, proceeds go to rehabilitate and advocate for war-affected children, and by wearing them, it will give you an avenue for conversation about this issue. Whistleblower necklaces range from $30- $100 and you also receive the whistleblower journal along with it. They also sell t-shirts that are $20 each for men and women in different colors and the original Falling Whistles journal for $5. All proceeds from purchases are used to expand the Falling Whistles campaign.
I always found it interesting to see how fashion can be bridged with humanitarian work, so I will occasionally be posting up "Fashion with a Purpose" to shed light on ways in which one can be fashion savvy while helping humanity and the world at the same time! What better way to be fashion forward?
Here are a few products they have on their site:
